Visual Effects Supervisor – Artistic Supervision | The Monkey King

• Served as Visual Effects Supervisor providing artistic and technical leadership on The Monkey King, a fully CGI animated feature film produced by Netflix Animation.

• Partnered closely with the Director and Production Designer to translate the film’s visual vision into production-ready solutions, ensuring both creative integrity and technical feasibility throughout the production pipeline. Collaborated with internal teams and external vendor studios, consulting with vendor VFX supervisors and department leads to align creative direction with production workflows.

• Facilitated cross-department collaboration and helped guide the integration of evolving technologies and pipeline tools while maintaining schedule and budget requirements established by production leadership. Ensured that visual effects work met the artistic standards of the film while supporting efficient production delivery across global teams.

Worked directly with clients including Nike, Fully, OHSU, Sound United, TGS film and Amazon to create various animated and live content for a range of platforms (broadcast, IG feed, IGS, YT and Augmented Reality). Was responsible for building an in-house motion and VFX production team at the #1 Global Ad Agency HQ (Portland, OR)

Managed a team of 15 artists and freelancers as needed for the various projects that spanned Story Boarding and editorial for Samsung and Coco-Cola, Animated, VFX, immersive and motion content for Coke, Nike, Samsung, Airbnb, Amazon Music, Soylent, KFC, Anki and other such brands. 

The animated content included 3D, stop-motion, 2D and motion for DOOH, Social platforms, Broadcast, VR and AR.

Led various commercial 3D animated ad spots, putting teams together and managing local and remote artists for some of the productions. 

Set up a lookDev-Lighting-Compositing pipeline working closely with the software team. 

Art directed and helped on numerous pitches.

The work included ads for Frito Lay, M&M and internal short films

Worked with Digital Design Group for 2 years on various pitches for the film slate. This included exploration of look dev of characters to develop the concept art.
